Yesterday was exciting to say the least. It rained buckets, the tornado sirens were going off, and yes, I could hear it from way out here. They are even kind enough to have a voice blasted out into the air saying "SEEK SHELTER NOW!!" But I was too busy putting a bucket under my leaky kitchen ceiling!Well, now we have a big hole up there, but we'll get it fixed, and I didn't like that light fixture anyway!

A hole in your ceiling all ready??? I love that you look on the sunny side!! Get a new fixture!!
Sorry to hear about your leaky ceiling! The joys of home ownership....
beautiful pic by the way. And I'm going to beg you to package up one of those skinks and mail it to me -marvin would really like him....
:-)
Love the photo! Hate hearing of the misfortunes! Oh, and did I mention that I love the photo! Keepin it sunny!
I know this is a serious post, but your attitude brought a chuckle. Really good attitude about the situation.
Ohhh nooooo! Guess this is one aspect of moving excitement that you hadn't anticipated. Sounds like your spirits are still high, though, so you'll get through this latest with no problem! :-)
That is a very pretty photo. So, scorpions and tornadoes, huh? Interesting spot you've chosen there. ;o)
Sorry to hear about your roof! We have had a record amount of rain for early May. There are flood warnings out here in Florence. I've got a roof or siding leak that I have to take care of, as well. :) Great photo of the Japanese Maple!
Sorry to hear that there is a hole in the roof. Ah, the deep south. I had more tornado warnings in Tennessee than I did in Colorado. And those big thunderstorms can hit anytime, 24/7.
Oh, dear! Leaky ceiling...not nice. Don't they have to disclose stuff like that, or was it an occasional thing like our leaky skylights? Glad you didn't have a tornado! Do you have a basement to go to?
Well that didn't take long! Sounds like you are taking things in stride though. If it were me I'd be tearing down to the basement as quickly as possible!
This is a whole new way of life Evie.
Thanks all! Just thought I'd mention that there is no basement to be used as a shelter. YIKES. I think I'll ask my husband (who used to lay block at an earlier age) to build a shelter down in the gully big enough for us all and the dogs! I'll make sure we can fit a few guineas in there too...just in case!
I'm glad you're all safe and sound. Pretty photo - luscious colors. Keep on looking at the bright side, kiddo - I like that!
Oh dear! Have you learned to "talk slow" yet?
Those rain drops tell it all..we've had 8 days of rain...luckily I don't have a leaky ceiling this time..sorry to hear about yours..they are a pain to figure out where they are leaking...but as all have said you are approaching the "new house" with a sunny disposition!!
Love the photo..excellent capture!!
I have been enjoying your Alabama Photos. That stinks about the ceiling. With a house it always something
Glad to hear everything's okay. And wow, you've got some composure!
Well, I hope you got your hole fixed Eve. Pretty picture.
