How cool! I've never seen a tanager. They are on my "want to see" list.

I've never heard of a tanager....I lead a very sheltered life apparently. She's a beauty!

Lucky you! I "think" I "might" have saw one flying thru my yard yesterday...It would be really cool if in fact is was, and that it stayed in the area!

Zowie - that guy is colorful!
I was just looking at your profile picture and wondering whether you've taken your motorcycle out for a ride in your new surroundings yet?

How super, lovely bird photos you've been posting, and the one of the fern and the moth was fantastic. I have only seen a moon moth at a butterfly garden. Have a great weekend.

You lucky girl!! I want an everyday bird that looks like that in my backyard...one that doesn't resemble a dove, or a blackbird!!

Thanks everyone! I'll try to get a picture of his mate soon. They have a great call too and the male sounds like a robin singing but with a different melody. I haven't seen a robin here at all come to think of it!!

Hi Eve, thanks for your comments on my blog. It took me about 3 days to complete the new look. Whew- I'm glad that is almost done. Now I can get back to the fun stuff like going outside and taking photos and catching critters. :)

The Summer Tanager is a beaut! I can usually locate them first by their song- which sounds very similar to an American Robin. I am always thrilled to see one. Great photo, too, by the way!

Eve,

Thanks for checking out my blog. It is nice to meet you too. I'm a Glenn Beck fan too and a 9 12er. You have a beautiful blog here.

Don't rub it in! Don't rub it in! (I cannot believe I missed this when you posted it.) I'm glad to see you have been finding good birds. I saw quite a few scarlet tanagers down in Tennessee. In fact, I saw two Scarlet Tanagers here in Gloucester on Saturday.

Love that splash of red in the green. I think we get tanagers around her but I've never seen one.
