Unbelieveable

Last nights sunset. I have lived on this property for just over 20 years.
Most of my Blogger friends know that I have been blessed with some of the most beautiful sunrises and sets, but you can only imagine just how many and just how beautiful they have been.
I've lived here with this full blown sky, in this treeless yard, and have been able to witness so many wonders, from a spectacular Aurora Borealis that took up a 270 degree chunk of my sky and made it an undulating show of color and forms, to an A-10 "Warthog" flying slow and low in a display of strength and pride. I am not sad that I am leaving this beautiful place. I'm feeling blessed that I have been able to enjoy a piece of heaven for a good part of my life.
Now I'm ready to find a new place to explore. To find the joys that this new home will bestow upon me.
Two more days of packing ahead. We've had a little glitch with the new home in Alabama but with a bit of luck and a few prayers we will be moving in by the end of next week.

Blue Sky

Saturday was THE day. The day we, up here in the north, wait for all year. It's just a memory now, but I was actually outside without a coat digging up a few allium bulbs and lily tubers to take with me to Alabama. This goose was talking to the guineas at the pond but decided to steal away before they got too close.
Hopefully there will be a few more days like that to come soon.

Pillar Sunset

Taken February 23rd.
Today our temperature will reach 58 degrees and then tumble down to 5 degrees!
What a ride that will be!

Been Busy...

As busy as I have been with the work to get ready to sell the house there always has to be a little time to watch the turkeys. We've been cleaning out the house... and I said good bye to my tractor today. It was sold to a man who was very happy to get such a beautiful tractor to replace his old "red" one that has seen better days. Did you notice all our snow melted??? Let's hope it says melted!!
We had some warm weather and rip roaring winds yesterday!
And after putting the guineas to bed, I had to take a photo of the beautiful sunset. I can only hope I have some beautiful skies down south!

Weekend Photos

Within these 5 photos I have found the "Five Greatest Joys I find in Nature". I've been tagged by Mary at http://faithfabricandphotos.blogspot.com/,
this is what they call a "meme" I don't really know what that is but we'll just play along.
I started out just planning on posting these 5 photos from the weekend then thought, well they would work just fine. So my Five Greatest Joys are...
1) Birds
2) The gift that makes earth a habitable planet.3) Plants that give us oxygen from our CO2.4) The miracle of all things beautiful.5) The gift of friendship.
Now I'm supposed to tag 5 other people!!
This is hard...but if you don't play I wont be offended!!
Jenny you've already been tagged so....
2) Roy do you feel like playing? http://fenlandwalker.blogspot.com/
3) Tina...are you up for it? http://tinasbirdyarns.blogspot.com/

Shooting Sunrise

I think on average I get more of these types of shooting sunrises than rainbows. It's a good trade off.
I really don't know if there is a term for this phenomenon but "Shooting Sunrise" seems appropriate to me!
This was yesterdays sky...today it's a rainy and snowy dark sky.

Eve's Fable

Sometimes I wake up in the morning and wonder "what in the world am I going to post today! This morning was a perfect example and I was just out of ideas. I didn't have any recent pictures that I felt would be interesting. Then...
I turned around.I went outside and turned around again. I went in the yard...and then turned around again. and when I turned around again...it was all over!
Moral of the story....
When you're not sure what to do next,
Turn around!

Heading out!

I'm taking a trip!Viewing this picture might invoke a trip to Africa!
This picture was actually taken out my second floor window Sunday morning!
In reality I'm going to Maine early tomorrow morning and will be back on the 17th.
See you all then!

What's that Old saying....

"Red sky in the morning sailors take warning, red sky at night sailors delight"

Here comes some more snow but with the 40 degree weather coming it should turn into water for my future flowers!!!
