Sunday

The first full day of Julie's visit we decided to strap on the snowshoes and make a trek around the trail. The sun was actually out and we took advantage of it while we could. Take a look at that wall of clouds to the south. That is the lake effect snow that has been hammering the area for quite some time now. This band which dumped over 42 inches in Adams NY in 24 hours shifted up here for the whole day yesterday. We were just on the edge of it so only got about 6 inches but Adams has received over 200 inches of snow, and Watertown, closer to me 146" this winter. Today we a going to have a break, but tonight, we'll be back to it. HELLO!!Ole needs snowshoes. I had to carry Daisy Lu a little bit. Mostly to keep her from chasing the deer! This was a tough walk and believe it or not Julie never fell down...me either (for once)! The blue sky, and very old fort.Sideways snowshoeing is always a good time! Yesterday, we hunkered down and read garden books all day!

I can smell the fresh crisp air! What a fun outing.

I think I'll pull some of my gardening books out soon and get some ideas for my little urban balcony garden.

So happy you are enjoying your company. Send down some snow shoes okay? We finally have some but not nearly as much as you I guess. They are promising one or two inches. The snow is still falling and it looks real pretty but then I don't have to go out in it. Have loads of fun.

Fun by all. Cannot even think about that much snow. We have had flutters this year, but we have been colder than usual. It is funny, in the south hear the term too cold to snow. Isn't that so funny. The coldest and most snow together here I remember was 2 ft of snow and -20. I don't understand where they get the to cold to snow from. They don't have good memories, and they sure haven't lived up north.

Hi Evie
Snowshoeing looks like fun for humans as well as dogs (if they had snowshoes that is)! (-:
Glad you got to go out at least one day so far.....look forward to hearing more as the week goes on........

Good to get some fresh air. I cannot think with 200 inches of snow. But I guess the "lake effect" storms can be legendary.

I love Daisy Lu's coat!
And how come you're never in any of the pictures. Tell Julie to please grab your camera next time you're out and snap a few of you for your blog! :-)
