Hi Barb, I take these for granted sometimes. I've heard we have some of the greatest sunsets in the world. I sure will miss them when I move.
I just came back and saw that your birthday was on the 29th. I hope you celebrate it anyhow and don't have to wait three years for it. We finally got a proper snowfall down here. It's steadily coming down and all the roads are covered.
A truly majestic sky! The winter tree silhouettes against the rich sunset color and cloud layers would be magnificent by themselves ... The sun pillar takes the scene to the next level. Belated birthday greetings to you.

Nice sun pillar! Sun pillars and sun dogs can be a harbinger of bad weather. We are supposed to be warm too.
