Pillar Sunset

Taken February 23rd.
Today our temperature will reach 58 degrees and then tumble down to 5 degrees!
What a ride that will be!

Nice sun pillar! Sun pillars and sun dogs can be a harbinger of bad weather. We are supposed to be warm too.

Beautiful photo Eve! I've seen a few of those sunsets lately too where there's a pillar of orange coming from them.

Love your header by the way. It's so cute! I see you are already at 50 degrees. Woohooo!!! We're headed there too but I don't think it's supposed to get down to 5 degrees afterwards. yikes!

What a bizarre sunset. I've never heard of such a thing. Very pretty though. Sorry to hear about the schizophrenic weather you're having there.

Stunning sunset Evie. I hadn't heard of pillar or sundog sunsets either, what does a sundog sunset look like??? I really don't envy you your temperature ups and downs. PHEW!

Thanks all!
And thanks Danni and Roxy Louise! My birthday is actually the 29th but I've got to wait another 3 years for that one!

Thanks Fake Steve! (If you can believe it I've alreay got a real Steve B on here so I gotta go with the Fake Steve B for you!) Thanks for visiting Sunny Side Up! I'll be over to see what crazy stuff is going on in your world soon.

Hi Barb, I take these for granted sometimes. I've heard we have some of the greatest sunsets in the world. I sure will miss them when I move.

I just came back and saw that your birthday was on the 29th. I hope you celebrate it anyhow and don't have to wait three years for it. We finally got a proper snowfall down here. It's steadily coming down and all the roads are covered.

A truly majestic sky! The winter tree silhouettes against the rich sunset color and cloud layers would be magnificent by themselves ... The sun pillar takes the scene to the next level. Belated birthday greetings to you.
