We still only have tulips and columbines in bloom at the moment. The daffodils and crocuses are passed; next hopefully the lilac will start doing its thing.
YOU are gifted, sweet friend! Love ya - meet soon?????? OMG....the word moderation whatever for spam filtering is STING!!!!!!!! What on earth are the chances of THAT happening?!!!!!!!!!!????????!!!!!!!!!
Abby, Those are Rose Campion...the pink and well either a coriopsis or yellow cosmos! I don't really know they keep popping up. The Rose Campion are just great I love them. They spread all over and are just covering my gardens! They come up from seed on their own each year. I'm sure you will fill all your gardens over time! Can't wait to see them grow!
Debi! STING!!! I know that made you happy! hahaha! Probably had his music playing too! See you soon!
Your rose campion is gorgeous and is stunning combined with the yellow coreopsis. The moody third photo is a piece of art, and so are the flamingo boots, of a different sort! I took some photos of my rose campion today. There are just a few blooms yet, and I am waiting for the companion plants too start blooming. Nevertheless, the bright blooms and silver foliage are delightful. I hope you had a wonderful Mothers Day!
Your garden is looking amazing! Love all the blooms and texture. I have peacock moss too...don't you just love the greens & blues in it?! Happy belated Mother's day!
Thanks Deb! I hope your Campion takes off. I just love it floating over everything! It's everywhere!
Thanks so much Kerry! Of course you would love the boots! They were so fun to make. I bet in your travels you could find some really funky boots to fill and photograph!! Would love to see you do that!
Thanks Phillip. That plant was a new one for me when I moved south. It's Persicaria ‘Red Dragon’. Half of it fell over last year but it was no prob. I saw a photo of it with a Japanese Blood Grass planted with it SO I found one and it will grow to be beautiful there!
Also Phillip, you might be interested in a native garden nursery near me. I've started a blog for the owner. She is just the sweetest lady. You can see the blog listed on the side of mine at the top or go here http://johnsnativegardens.blogspot.com/
I am doing a program for a local garden club on container gardening this week. Could I please, please use the photo of the boot planter in my power point presentation?? Can you let me know ASAP. I am giving the program on Thursday morning this week so I am putting the PPT together tonight and tomorrow. Please email me at signaturegardens@verizon.net. Thanks!! I was just on the internet last night looking for a boot planter...and here you are :-)
Good Morning Sunny Side Up Evis! That top photo makes me smile and it is so bright, cheery and color-filled it makes me want to start my day! Love Morgan's boots-hmmm, where is that cute little bistro table? I NEED some Rose Campion, I will be looking for it today. New stones to shed, very fine! Wonderful pictures Eve, ALMOST as good as being on top of the mountain at Sunny Side Up. Almost. You have inspired me to get my fanny outside and shoot what's blooming here. I'd have to hurry, the rain is coming. Again.
Everything looks sooo lush and green Eve. Love the idea with Morgan's outgrown boots. I like to plant Hens and Chickens in my boy's old work boots. Still a bit to cold for me to plant quite yet, but I am gathering plants! Your photo's never disappoint!
