Having spent most of my life in "the north country" of northern NY, to me 7" of snow means just that...7" of snow.
But here in Alabama 7" of snow means a
FORCED VACATION without being able to go anywhere.
SO....
Lets go SNOWSHOEING!
Looks like the deer are still roaming the woods.
Everyone went over the tree without a hitch but Poor old Ole had to go around. I think Daisy Lu was trying to make him feel bad by showing off, however he just laughed it off!
Maybe it's time to get the swing cleaned off?
Did I say I was looking forward to spring?
Today we are all home again. We'll go snowshoeing and do some birdwatching and just enjoy the time at home. I think we'll be snowed in for at least a few more days!

I love the last photo! It is funny that you are getting so much snow. It will be here in Boston tomorrow
Hey hey! That looks like fun, snow shoeing! GREAT photos and yeah, I love that last shot and the one of Morgan with her cute little red nose! XO!
great pictures! Stay warm and enjoy the forced vacation!
So you got your snowshoeing permit after all! :) Lovely photos, as always! I especially liked the last one of your house! Very pretty! I hope that Morgan is enjoying the snow!
I told my kids that ya'll were wearing snow shoes on ya'lls talk. They wanted to know what snow shoes were. :)
I've always wanted to try snow-shoeing, I hear it's great fun! Looks like you all are making the best of a challenging situation. It sure looks gorgeous where you are.
Don't just wipe that swing off, sit on it first, ok? ;-) lol
You see Evie, I said it was you who brought the snow with you.
I love that picture of Morgan.
So funny how they roll up the towns when it snows down south. But at least you get to go snow shoeing!
Are you sure you didn't just move to southern NY? ; )
Looks like you all had a wonderful time snow shoeing it. Crazy weather isn't it? You all got more snow down there than I did up here in Mid MO.
Bundle up and stay warm. Cabin fever does set in after a while.
Lovely photos Eve! It looks like y'all had a great time in the snow. We are enjoying it here as well. I am just so glad I kept my snow boots and big winter coat from when we lived in Michigan. It looks like we will be snowed/iced in for a few more days too. Stay warm and enjoy your winter days.
Whenever we get close to having enough snow here in St. Louis to get my snowshoes out I do. Christmas Eve day this year was such a day. I met a man and his daughter from Australia. It was the first time they had ever been in snow. Being from Michigan I take winter stuff like X-country skiing and snowshoeing for granted.
Enjoy being snow bound :)

Wonderful photos - I love snow shoeing too! Looks like winter isn't too bad in your area! wink, wink! :-)
Good Heavens! That's a lot of snow!!
We've wanted to try snowshoeing, but haven't had a chance yet. It could be useful to have 1 winter sport in case of snow. You got some lovely photos of the day.
I would love to go and do some snowshoeing. Probably other month for us to have any snow at all.
Amazing photos by the way.
Looks like fun! I always wondered what it would be like to snowshoe. I would probably fall on my face or butt. Cute photos of the dogs and of Morgan! I like that fence shot, too.
All that snow sure looks pretty. Love the tassled boots, too!
We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning, but alas, it was all gone by noon. Makes for much easier clean up, though...
Nicole is oh so right! You got yourselves more snow than us here in MissouREE Evis!
