The news was out and Morgan and I decided to take the 15 minute trip...(ok we were on the way to my mom's anyway) to see the Snow Bunting that had landed in Guntersville!
Well, there were a few people there and I wanted to use my good birding etiquette so I didn't get too close to the bird and my view was obscured because of the extremely low profile of this hungry little bunting! He spent all his time munching on grass seeds. |

If you will notice the view this little feller chose is a pretty good one so I'm thinking it's a pretty smart Bunting...good views....great weather!! |
Who could ask for more!!
(I'm just hoping he won't be bringing any snow with him!!! PLEASE!!!)

How EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the bestest thing EVER, and how lucky of you to get to see the sweet little thing! I'm green with envy but THANKFUL that you had such a marvelous experience in little ole Alabamer...! Woo HOO!
What a cute little Bunting. Happy T-Day!
Well, this little bird does know how to pick a venue. It's a lovely place. He looks a bit lonely though. Hope he's not lost.
Nice low angle on the second shot, Eve. It's cute the way the little feller is peaking over the patch of grass. Hope you don't get snow but have a great Thanksgiving!
I have never seen a snow bunting. How exciting! I don't know, but he could bring some snow. It's supposed to get very cold toward the end of the week and wet, too. So, you never know.
Thanks for stopping by my own blog! It's great to hear from another Alabama garden blogger. I have been scrolling through and enjoying some of your own posts.I look forward to reading more. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Neat! I'm glad you got to see this bird and get some photos. I've never seen one. Love your new header.
Ooooo how cool you got a snow bunting all the way down to Alabama!! Didn't you post something on my blog last winter about how you will never see snow buntings because they're from too far north?? I'm so happy for you! Isn't he sweet looking? I think they are the most beautiful sparrows of them all :)
COoool. Delightful species and you got a far better view than I had recently.
How cool is that! Maybe it's as tired of the snow as we are and decided to head south for the winter.
I can hardly believe I've never seen one in person.
Hey, if I had wings, I fly south too! How cool is this?
Debi, you should come see him! I don't think he's going anywhere!
Thanks Nicole!! you too!!

Sharon! Hi! You must have them out there...they're the ones that fly along the side of the road in winter. Now get out there and start looking!!
