Evis that Bluebird isn't confused and he is no birdbrain. He knows that is a dang 5 star birdie resort there on your Alabamer Mountain top! Our Bluebirds prefer our Martin houses too but the Wrens run them outta there :) We have Bluebirds right now trying to fit in a watermelon birdhouse with an entry hole too small for their big Bluebird birdie butts. It is a comedy every morning and afternoon! They aren't interested in the six Bluebird houses around the yard. Nope.

Mine too Nicole!

So funny RR!! The bluebirds actually had a nest in there this spring. The house is way down in the field so I didn't keep too good of track of it. I really hoped for Purple Martins but the pond is possilby too far away.
It's so funny that the Eastern Bluebird is the NY State bird and I only saw a hand full of them all the years I was there. Here, I see a hand full a day!!!

Oh, poor little bluebird.... too many toyon berries? But, hey... an empty nest is an empty nest. Maybe he's just looking for a warm place to stay out of the cold.

Mr. Bluebird knows a five star accomadation when he sees one. Might his mate be close at hand?

Too cute.

Maybe since the Martins are gone for the season, he can just move in.

Beautiful! I love bluebirds and try to entice them to my garden with blue bird houses. Yes, they come to nest, but I rarely see them the rest of he year. They flock, however, to my neighbor down the road. who has acres of open land. I think they prefer fields to my woodlands.

I think the Estate Agents (Realtors) call it "Vacant Possession" Evie.
PS. The verification word was OUSNESTS

So cute - maybe he's trading up and thinks it's time for a birdy mansion! :-)

Maybe he's downsizing from a house of his own?

I imagine any home looks good as it gets colder :-)
