Who would ever think that a net would be a girl's best friend? Morgan spent the summer with a butterfly net that our friends from New York, Dick and Marion gave her last summer or even the summer before. She never really paid a lot of attention to it there. It made the trip to northern Alabama in one piece only to have a hole eaten in it by a mouse while resting in the shed. I decided to remind Morgan that she had it, and that was it...it has been the most interesting toy of the summer! I mentioned to Dick that she was having a blast gently catching dragonflies and letting them go...even with a big hole. Within a week a big box came in the mail from Dick and Marion.
I knew just what it was and waited for Morgan to get home from school! There were two nets, one for me and one for Morgan.
How did you guys figure out that Morgan LOVES pink???
Thanks guys...she had a big smile and ran outside with her new summer fun!

This is much better than a Nintendo.
Morgan I hope to see a photo of you catching butterflies with Daisy Lu running by your side.
What a sweet thing for them to do.
Best activity in the world for a kiddo - outdoors with nature!
It's been over 30 years since I have picked up a butterfly net. I love remember whens...
A very creative toy..and one that doesn't need replacement parts or updated this and that!! How nice!!
have fun...
What a kind and thoughtful thing to do. Can only agree with Steve that you don't have to have all the latest gadgets to have fun! What colour was yours Evie?
Hope yours was blue Evie, to match the "wheels"
What a great gift - I loved having a net when I was a child! I'm glad to know kids still chase dragonflies, butterflies and minnows in the summer.
What a great gift and encouragement to be outside. Is yours pink, too? Have fun!
Thoughtful gift, sweet story and a cool red door Eve!
Gotta love outdoor kids =-)
I am sure so many memories have been made with that net. And the pink ....you can keep up with where she is in the yard for sure.
