Just a few pictures...

Another one of my lilies...A Canadian Swallowtail in my garden. This was taken about three days ago and it's still out there today. It actually let me pick him up from behind. Sat right on my hand until he realized I wasn't a flower...
but my guinea kids think I'm sweet!!!

Dang - I have always been "on the fence" about day lilies, mostly because I had only seen the orange ones. This one is GORGEOUS! Makes me want to dig up all the orange ones around here and replace with softer colored ones. Do you just get them at nurseries or are they special order?
Your guineas!!! So cute...how do they interact with you? I just want to give them a big hug. D'you think they'd sit still for that? :-)

Thanks Stacey! Get planting girl! I'm not quite sure the guineas have figured out that they are bug eaters yet!!! Still into the grass and bagged food!! It will come...the ticks will be in trouble next spring for sure!!

Hi Danni...Dont get rid of your orange lilies!! They are just as pretty! Any place has these...just go to Lowes or even Walmart when they are in season. Spring. They have all kinds! Some of these were gifts. They are so easy to grow...really!

The guineas are very good. They don't always come when I call them but they will sit on my lap when they feel like it....just cant tell them apart AT ALL!!! The love a good hug!!

Lovely swallowtail photo. I planted some echinacea this year to attract butterflies and they've been doing their job. I had a bunch of fritillaries aound them the other day, I'll be posting a photo next week.

Hi Eve

I also love the Swallowtail photo, it's nice to see the butterfly in context amongst those lovely pink flowers. By the way, forget to mention, when I went to the garden centre the other day, I saw Echinacea for sale there and I thought of you!(-:
A group hug with the Guineas would be fabulous me thinks!

Jenny,
did you buy them???? They really do draw the butterflies! Yesterday a hummingbird was taking a taste too! 0000000 for the guineas!

Thank you Roy! The only thing I did to that picture was resize it!! That was a very cooperative butterfly!

That is a beautiful lily! Isn't it neat to hold a butterfly? I had one crawl on to my hand once and I walked around like it was a ring on my finger for a few minutes...amazing! So pretty and so trusting when they do that. Love the guinea hens! Are they eating lots of ticks???

Wow--your echinacea is so far ahead of mine.

I love your guinea picture: they are such strange looking birds. Our neighbors have a guinea flock, and those calls still startle me if I'm not paying attention!
