Eastern Gray Tree Frog

Yesterday while mowing I spied this little feller trying to make an awkward get-a-way from the hawthorn trees in my front yard. He looked quite silly trying to hop/walk through the grass. I decided to give him a hand and bring him to our back deck where we had a summer tree frog visit us for the whole season. He seemed comfortable where I left him and last night I decided to "leave the light on for him"! The dinner light to attract bugs!

Wonderful photo, I love gray treefrogs. A few years ago I had a trench dug for a foundation and it filled with water, we had a lot of rain that spring, and gray treefrogs laid some eggs in it. As the summer progressed the water evaporated so there was only a small puddle left full of tadpoles. I captured all of the tadpoles and put some in an aquarium and raised them till they turned to frogs, all the rest I brought to a local pond that does not evaporate and let them go. If you look at my Jan. 31st posting you'll see one of the frogs I raised. The way you found this one reminds me of the way I found the woodfrog I photographed the other day.
