Tiny Dancer

My friend Yvonne at the Country Gardener recently put out this post on her beautiful wild flowers. She is an expert gardener and it would be worth your while to explore her blog and her website Flower Gardening Made Easy if you have any interest in gardening. So where is this leading you ask...her post "Floral Magic-Tiny Dancer" was more nostalgia than gardening. She commented that the 'tiny dancer' in her garden brought back memories of an Elton John song and album Madman Across the Water which was one of my favorites as a teen. Well, possibly The favorite as I embroidered the exact copy of the album on the back of an old jean jacket and wore it all through high school! My 30th reunion is next weekend....I still have the coat....should I wear it???

Good lord, yessss, wear it. If it's sweltering, you can always take it off.

Thanks for the shout-out to my blog and website. I hope you all come and visit.

Thanks, Yvonne

You embroidered that??? I'm impressed! By all means wear it! If you wore it all through school, people will expect it :-)

Hi Mary! Yes I did! A very long time ago. I was 16 when I did this. Yeah I think wearing it would refresh a lot of memories!! I just wish more of my close friends were going!

Looks like you got into a few scrapes back in high school Evie! (-: Love it! Yes, you should defnitely wear it. We'll want a posting on the outcome......

Ok guys I'll be bring it along! No scrapes Jenny, just a lot of wear! Oh it was used when I got the coat as well. Someone had painted "Honda" on the back and being 16 and not thinking I just embroidered right over the top of it! But it was the only jean jacket I had!

Hi Eve - I do the paintings with Photoshop CS3 (CS2 works too, but nothing before). I use multiple layes, and have about a couple of dozen brushes beyond the ones in the program...I just love it!

Thanks Helen,
I have CS2. I mostly work with filters. I work with layers too so know some about it. Is there a book that you learned from that you could steer me to or did you learn on your own? Your work is just so beautiful!

Thanks Barb! It does fit!!! I guess I'd better get it out and dust it off!! Ha Ha!! I'll have to wash it on gentle cycle...or it might fall apart!!

Most definitely, it is a beautiful coat and you should wear it at your reunion. Can't wait to hear all about it. I will also look at Yvonne's link. Sounds like a lovely site and I always enjoy looking and learning about flowers, along with everything else. Thanks Eve.

Yes wear it. We saw Elton John in concert a couple of years ago in Toronto. Had horrible seats but it was one of the best concerts we have ever been too. Elton John sounds just like he does in concert as he does on his cd's.

Would love to see him in concert again.

Eve, Yes, Yes, Yes! Wear it. What a cool jacket. You're very talented.
We saw Elton in P'cola last night as you know from my FB. It was one of the Best Concerts ever. He's still rocking. Sounds amazing and the show was awesome.
