So glad that your babies made it safe and sound.

Hi Eve

Showing my ignorance. Of course I can tell they're birds, but what are Keets? Is that slang? Please tell me more of their story.

Hi Jenny! Nice to see you! It's quite alright...I didn't know what keets were until a month ago or so. They are baby Guinea Fowl! I'm getting them for their bug eating value! We have a terrible problem with ticks around here now and that is one of their favorites! It's going to be a challenge but I hope to become a good Guinea Mom!

Shelley!
Thanks for stopping again...they really are cuties!!
I've been trying to send you a poem on your blog about Goldfinches...your favorites, but the computer freezes up on me each time I go to your site!! I don't know if you'll see this but it's for you to enjoy. I wrote it a couple years ago.

Goldfinch

Crazy little bird,
all yellow and black.
You fly so fast
attack, attack.

Your rival you chase
around and round,
right past my nose
with your squeaking sound.

Slow down a bit
you work too hard.
Peck on that thistle
I left in my yard.

Crazy little bird,
all yellow and black.
You brighten my life
I hope you come back.
