After the Rain

The day after the big rain the sun came out for just a bit, but it didn't last long.
The Mahonia is blooming and the honey bees took advantage of the warm sun to get out and pollinate. Soon these flowers will turn to grape like berries that the birds just love. This is a wild honeysuckle that smells as sweet as sugar!I've shown these mushrooms before. There are three and they stuck around all winter.
I wonder how long they will last?Maple tree getting ready to leaf out!Hawthorn I believe. (I think because it's got sharp prickers that HURT!)
~Thanks to my friends who let me know it was a Quince tree. I did some research and found there is another one on the property that actually had one fruit on it last year. Alas, the bugs are really enjoying themselves on the mountain!~Forsythia!I missed all these blooms last year and have a few more to go.
I have until April 24 to get them all in before we've been here a year!
WOW!

Hi Eve,
Wow, you have lots of spring flowers. The Mahonia is one of my favourite small shrubs. I believe that the pinkish flowers are quince rather than hawthorn. Try to look that up.
It is warming up here, but only a few snowdrops are blooming.

Oh thank you Lene!!! I will look that up. I know there is supposed to be Quince here so I will be looking to find out! Yeah!

I also noticed that my Dogwood buds are getting a little fat! I can't wait for them to open!

Lovely flowers Eve,
Are these all in your yard? They make the rain worth it in the end. Honeysuckle sure does smell heavenly. My mom has one in her yard.

My Grandparents place had a hawthorn (might have been a locust). Big nasty stickers about 2 inches long...some stickers had stickers on them. I had a lady-Pastor friend who made a crown of thorns from some of it's limbs...a rather painful undertaking.

Thanks for a nice taste of spring!

Love the flower photos. We don't have too many flowers yet. We have a quince tree as well. It had a one fruit a couple of years ago. Odd. I am glad the rain has stopped

A lovely selection of Spring blooms Eve. I'm just beginning to see signs of some movement in the garden but I think we are 2 weeks behind what I posted last year due to the weather. FAB.

Isn't it amazing that there is such grace and beauty all around us? All we have to do is take a minute and look down and around. That is one of the cool things about photography. It helps us find those things and appreciate the treasure so readily at hand.

As you can see, your photos are inspiring!
