They arrived......they swung...
...they left...Well, Julie swung, but I promised I wouldn't post pictures!
We had the best time with my family from the great state of Maine.
And that $160.00 pork loin was the best ever!! (that is an inside joke folks, ask me about it!)
Sadly I didn't take many pictures because it was just too short a visit to think about photographing. I've got Julies photos (and the top two are hers) but I'll let her post the story of her trip.
Thanks for coming to our little house and making it a special place with family!
Love you all!

There's nothing like magical times with family to perk up the winter doldrums! Can't wait to hear about that pork loin. Glad you guys had a wonderful time together - these visits are so special!
Now I'm really curious about that inside joke, hehe. Glad you all had a great time :)
What?! No pictures about the $$$hundred sixty dollar$$$ pork loin!!
Happy all of you had fun and got some swing time in too :)
Yeah Eve, I'd like to cast my vote for more on the pork loin. Sounds like you had a nice family time!
None you've gone and done it Evie. You'll just HAVE to explain about the best ever Pork loin! (-: I'll look forward to Julie posting soon. Glad you had such a great time, shame it was so short tho.
The swing looks fun. It looks like it swings out over a bank...twice the fun then.
Sounds like a nice visit with loved ones! :)
Anxiously awaiting the pork loin story!
What? Really?! What is a "wonderful visit" blog post without posting the photos we're all dying to see??!!!
You guys....no FAIR!
:-(
(still love you both, though) :-)
PS: I meant to mention how much I love your new arty Crocus header. I need to find out from you how to do that!
So you want to know the story on the $160.00 pork loin? Ok the loin was $10.00, the grill $150.00. The lesson is, when you have family you haven't seen in some time come to visit, and the two in charge of grilling are passionate gardeners, and they are grilling around a bunch of gardens. You should probably have someone else do the grilling. Now I have to confess, I was asked by others if I would like help with the grilling and I declined. "No, no I've got it, you just relax and enjoy!" Yes, Julie and I got caught up in the moment and we rounded the house to the front. The next thing we knew was someone was yelling "Where's the fire extinguisher!!!!!!" Luckily the extinguisher was not needed. But it was close. Very close. I'm pretty sure we came close to blowing a hole in the side of the house. Note: find a new place for the next new grill. We finally removed the charred remains of the pork loin out of the grill and being a person who hates to be defeated, the loin finished its cooking in the oven.
It was the best pork loin I've ever served.
The good part of this story is I've learned that when they say "sear the meat to hold in the flavor", they mean it!! And I've found that if you have a good chunk of loin, a good searing goes a long way!
I stumbled onto your blog, and wanted to let you know that I've really enjoyed my visit! By the way, pork loin is one of my very favorites and worth every penny! :-)
Visits with family are always great. Glad you had a good time together.
You have only been there five minutes Evie, now you are trying to burn the place down. {:))
Great new header by the way Evie.
