Look at What I Caught!

You can just imagine the excitement in the air when Morgan opened a package from Daniel Spurgeon that contained his new book
"Look at What I Caught!"
"Critters Caught by Kids"
I found Daniel's amazing Blog "Nature at Close Range" just before I moved to the north Alabama area and am just so glad I did. Daniel has a wonderful sense of nature, humor, and adventure and I believe his kids are just as adventurous as he is. They were surely a big help in the making of his wonderfully photographed book for kids and adults, as they brought home a multitude of critters for him to put in his blog. (Mrs. Spurgeon you must be a saint!!)
With all these great photos what else could he do but put them in a book for curious critter catchers!
Most of you who read my blog know that my daughter Morgan is a nature lover and has been catching creatures for quite some time. She was thrilled to read Daniel's note to her that read "..to a great fellow critter catcher! Thanks for helping to encourage me on this project!"
Well, thank you Daniel, without your wonderful blog "Nature at Close Range" we would not had nearly as much fun looking for and learning about all the wonderful creepy crawlers around us!
Please be sure to click on my post title to visit Daniel's Blog and look into his fantastic book here
Thanks Daniel and family!
We love your book!

Wow! Thank you Eve for the nice review! And yes, my wife is a saint! I could and probably should write a book about her someday. She is an Ethnobotanist, which I only discovered after I order an Ethnobotany text book recently. I knew that she had a degree in Biology, but I had no idea that she had concentrated on Ethnobotany. She had even lived with a native tribe in Peru for a summer studying their plants and medicinal uses.

I'm glad that Morgan liked the book! We look forward to continue reading about ya'lls adventures over there in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachians.

Eve, Daniel's current post is ABOUT persimmons! I enjoyed it, his post. We had a few off the ground, no tummy problems!! I am here to tell you there is no way to eat an unripe persimmon, they are one bitter nasty taste sensation. Yikes.

How very nice for Daniel and Morgan. I think someday Miss Morgan might be writing and illustrating her own book.

What a nice tribute to Daniel and his book..and how lucky Morgan is to have parents and friends who encourage her sense of wonder...into the creepy world of critters.!! Neat!

I know I'm excited for her! :-)

Wish we lived closer - Morgan would love all the cool little critters I've found lately.
