All Better Now!

Computers can be a pain but oh so fun as well.
It looks like we were able to save all my old files so that is good news.
I'm learning all about Vista and trying to figure out how to make my computer feel right by putting everything back the way it was.
On that note I wanted to tell you we ordered my new computer from Dell. It was like building a car! The delivery date was supposed to be Aug 4th. We received the computer yesterday...6 days before promised! Way to go Dell!!

I went through the same thing this year, my 8 year old laptop was still working but just didn't have enough umph to handle today's requirements. My big developer's desktop that I bought in 2002 was showing signs if giving up. I bought an external hard drive and backed up the good stuff...except for my email addresses! Both have been replaced with Dell Outlet computers. (Steve B's way of stimulating the economy!)

Thumbs up Eve :) Glad everything is all better, looking forward to your posts. I'm cool with Vista, it has behaved and minded very well!

YAY! for new computers and DELL for sending yours early! My new one is still sitting atop the dining table awaiting software. Ick. In the meantime, I suffer...

Being without a computer is like being without a lifeline! LOL! Glad you are connected to the world again.

We have 2 Lenovo (made by IBM) laptops and we love them! The only issue we ever had with Vista was trying to interface it with our old Gateway. My husband worked it out though.

Enjoy!

Glad you are back on line! Having to put everything back is not any fun, but at least if you saved stuff that is great.

Wow! That is service- definitely kudos to Dell for beating expectations! I'm glad that you didn't lose any files.

Congrats on the return to connectivity!!! I'll bet you are so relieved.

Sigh. Vista. I wish you much, much, much better luck with it than I've had. I absolutely detest it. I'm in line (hopefully first) for the new Windows release...I'm gonna wash that Vista right outta my hair!! I can't tell you how many files it has corrupted, how long my start up time is and what an energy HOG it is...I get (maybe) 2 hours battery time off my 5 hour battery...and that's after reducing usage in other areas. sigh.
Sorry for that particular rant. ugh.
Glad you're back. :-)
