Let's go for a Walk

Morgan says to me "I'm bored, let's go for a walk." So we did. At the end of the driveway we came across this beautiful Indigo Bunting singing his heart out at the top of a tall tree. We turned east up the hill, and then down the hill, and before we got to the next hill we spied Mr. Tuxedo before he spotted us. Why...doesn't he remind me of someone...Oh Poppy from Frome! There are lots of pine trees which I didn't see much of in Chaumont,
and these beautiful rolling fields. I'm not sure what these are but they do smell like our honeysuckle up north. There are ponds and streams along the way. A couple of the locals!Turning back now I just love this pond with the bird houses and old farm equipment, and they have this wonderful grass that is just starting to sprout. You can see how very tall it will get this summer. I might have to ask for some of that! With the sun getting low and the hills seeming steeper it was time call it a walk. We'll have to head west on our next trip out!

What a beautiful area Eve.
I'd love to have donkeys for neighbors. (It's my secret wish to have a donkey shelter)

A lovely walk and you are getting to know the territory. I don't think that plant is a honeysuckle, but I don't know what it is. Love that cat and the donkeys. A great place!

What an absolutely fabulous place you live in! All the space and opportunities for brushes with nature. That little bunting really is singing for all he's worth. :o)

How great is it that Morgan suggested going for a walk when she was bored.

Have a great day!

Lovely scenes Evie and as we said before there is lots new to see and explore. That is one dodgy looking cat, probably comes from Frome.

Mr Tux and the Popster would have a ball together I think (I'm ignoring that totally slanderous comment from Mr Roy) (-: What a lovely walk, I'm going to try and follow you on GE and find the pond. Happy westward wanderings next Evie and M.

Cool. So, have you set up your feeders yet? The Indego Buntings should be regular visitors. I'm happy that you have a great place to get out and walk about.

Wonderful new scenery Eve! Definitely different from where you used to live. I have to say, I've never heard an Indigo Bunting sing before. Are they common there?

Love the birdhouse shot. It should be printed and framed.

Thanks Sharon!
The indigo bunting seems to be very common here, I've noticed the song is very warblerlike. They like the edge of woodlands and bushy pastures. You should go bunting hunting!!!
