Dragon

My yard is just FULL of Dragonflies. Which is just fantastic because they are one of my favorite things.I am having a time identifying this guy. Dragonflies can be very difficult to identify with some species that need a real expert in a lab to do the job.
I'm going to go out on a long limb here and say this could be a Twin-spotted Spiketail.
But I really think they should have called it the "Mean-faced Follow-the-Arrows".

Omigosh - he does have arrows on him! Lovely photo Eve! Ecobirder does a great job of identifying dragonflies.

What a beauty! Thank you for this post. I've never really examined a dragonfly before...they're too fast. I had no idea there were so many different types, although I did know that there are some on the verge of extinction. Maybe you have a dragonfly haven there!

LOL! Your name for him is perfect! I've never seen that kind. I'm still waiting to find them here. Maybe if it ever quits raining. Great shot of his arrows.

Pretty! Dragonflies come out early in your new home...I don't think we'll see ours until summer.

Great photo Evie. It will be fun finding out which you have at your home. Look forward to more photos. I prefer your name for it! (-:
