Something Special

A little something special I found out yesterday. First I want to say that the home we will be moving to next month is on a road that is a little unique in my terms. It starts off the main road heading south for almost a mile, it then turns east for about a mile, and then turns north, right back to the main road for almost a mile. There are a few roads off our new road but they are all dead ends with just a house or two on them. So I'm thinking it will be a very quiet safe road. My husband went there yesterday for the house inspection and called me when he got into the driveway heading for the house. He said to me..."a quarter mile before I got to the driveway, I was met in the road by..." A GANG OF GUINEA FOWL!!!
Ok he didn't scream that...but I AM!!!
This just is too good to be true!I went outside to visit my "kids" and of course Buddy came to sit with me and we had a nice little discussion about how I was leaving him with the big responsibility of winning over his new care takers. He was pretty confident that he was up for the job.

Eve,
What great news about those southern guinea fowl!! I just knew you would end up with some southern hospitality from some guinea friends!!
With that look, I think Buddy is saying, I can most definitely take care of things here!! ;-)

Eve - how funny that there are guineas by your new home! Are you tempted to have some there???
I'm sure buddy will do a great job w/ his new caretakers. Who could resist that face?!

Do you plan on getting another flock of fowl once you're settled into your new place?

Ha Ha Ha!!! I'll try to keep the zooming down until I get off the home turf Roy!!! ;-)

I think there could be more guinea kids in my future for sure, we'll need something to chase off the poisonous snakes!!!!!

How exciting to know the "Guinea" adventures will continue. Does a Southern Guinea speak "buckwheat" with a Southern drawl?

Obviously it just proves that your husband bought the right house for you....already stocked with guineas! How funny....guinea radar at work.

That has just GOT to be a good omen Evie! It'll be fun to talk Guineas with whichever neighbour owns them. Will you really have rattlers there? I think Buddy has things well in hand. (-:

Yep, the snakes are in the south. Don't usually see them much though. Read a comment and I forgot what I was going to say....sorry you can't take your guineas with you, but sounds like you will probably get some more.

I have to go put on my reading glasses...you're moving to a place with guineas? I'm so happy for you. If only you could bring your friends with you.

Have a good and safe trip, and hope the Guineas in Alabama are friendly. LOL

I think that's what they call serendipity. I hope Buddy and the gang don't miss you too much.
