Horrible Weather vs Snowshoes

The neighbor called yesterday to see if Morgan would like to come take care of Martha. Martha is 2 now and Morgan has been hired to be mom's helper. They wanted to pay her at first but we decided it was a good learning experience and said no need to pay. But the last three times Morgan has gone to help they've insisted on giving her a little babysitting money. She is thrilled!
When she got the call yesterday, even though she usually goes alone in no snow conditions, I watch her one way and the neighbor meets her in the yard, I decided to tag along. On went the snowshoes and off we went.It was actually raining ice and I didn't want her any where near the road so we went through the field between the properties. Now just to let you know she actually has a cute "girly" coat for school and outings. This old coat and snow pants have been around for a long time!I turned around and headed home. The ice was pricking my face and I didn't want to take the camera out very often. A very dreary walk with no birds in sight. On the way with Morgan we spotted this bag. I told her I would pick it up on the way home. It seemed to have a smiley face on it. But in reality it was no smiley face at all. But it must have been laughing at me because when I backed up after retrieving it from the bush, I forgot I had snowshoes on and down I went!Poor guineas.... I went out, closed the door and called it a day!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am not able to post as often as Mary. Unfortunatly that garage isn't mine. Your yard sure looks like ours.

Eve - so sorry you fell in your snowshoes! Funny that you pointed out your butt print in the snow! It is hard to get up in snow shoes once you've fallen. I know - I tried going down porch steps in them and did a face plant.

I think I see a "Snow Angel" in your one picture...lol.

LOL! Always enjoy your humor and ability to laugh at yourself :-) Glad to know that I'm not the only one doing the less than graceful thing in this weather. I can't even blame it on snowshoes. The snowshoes are interesting....don't need them here, so I've never really seen any. Good for Morgan with her job! Great experience and earning money...icing on the cake!

Thanks for the adventure through the snow, still no snow here. Although there was suppose to be snow last night, didn't get any. Had rain for DAYS before that. Liked walking through the snow with you, just glad I was not the one that fell down.

Oh how we could have used snowshoes recently. It would probably be a good investment on our part, if we're going to continue to get snow like this. Walking up to the barn, we were sinking in snow up to our knees. What kind are yours? Any thoughts on types?
Your little girl is growing up...her job helping others must be building her confidence incredibly! :-)

Hi Evie, I wish I could have joined you and Morgan in your tramp across the fields. It would have been quite an experience for me I'm sure! Sorry you fell over in the snow. I hope you took it out on that pesky bag! (-:
Well done Morgan, I hope she's enjoying the fruits of her labours!

Its at times like this that Morgan really needs to be carrying a camera. We would have liked to have seen that Evie {:)

Evie, I can sympathize with forgetting you had snowshoes on....I did that a few times while getting around to feeding/watering during that last big snow we had! I told everyone at work that I wasn't making snow angels but snow doughnuts! :)

LOL! Hey, very well done for bringing a camera. I would have left it home on the computer desk...infact, I would have stayed home by my computer desk! LOL, life is fun when you're two.

Wow, the first job. I hope she had a wonderful evening babysitting. We still have no snow but maybe today. Sure loved those photographs. It looks so pretty doesn't it until you have to deal with it?

Also forgot to say hope you didn't have a sore tush after that fall. I've had a few of my own in bad weather and know how that goes.

An adventurous day you had!
I hope guineas haven't caught cold while the door was open?

I've never attempted walking with snow shoes. The number of times they're needed here are few and far between. I can fall quite well without them.
