Fall Ice

Yesterday morning started out with a steady rain which turned to ice as it hit the ground. Everything was covered with ice in no time. Luckily it didn't get too thick and cause any real damage. It makes for some beautiful pictures though. This little Tree Sparrow had a hard time on the icy slope there. I wish my camera battery had lasted a little longer!
I don't think my camera likes the cold!

Beautiful icy image! Looks like the Tree Sparrow is going to go sledding down that shepherd's hook!

Now, Eve, how did you go out there to get those pictures without breaking your neck? They are lovely anyway.

All lovely to look at! Ice makes things so beautiful, if it just didn't also make them so dangerous. Poor little sparrow! At least "down" leads to the feeder.

Oh my goodness...that's beautiful!! Cold, but beautiful!

I do feel for the little critters that have to live outside during weather like that, though.

Brrr...

Hi Evie, I love the gate and tangled twig one, typical Eve Sweatman study that! (-: I hope you could stay safely at home through that weather!

Eve, That last pic is worth a 1000 words! I love it when it rains and freezes but only if I don't have to drive in it...but some scenes are rather gorgeous esp. if the sun comes out!! Poor little birdie..love to know what he is thinking!!

Hello Eve

I trust the sparrow did not get stuck to the feeder?? Nice shots as usual - no snow here (in my patch that is) to date...a bit of frost is all.

Best wishes, Adgi

Wow, it's kind of early for ice storms! Or at least compared to when I was a kid (probably the same storm Bird Girl is talking about) in Vermont. When the sun comes out, oh, so pretty. Sorry you had an ice storm, and even more sorry your camera doesn't like the cold. NICE ICE pix!

Beautiful shots. I love that top one. The textures and the color, covered in ice...lovely!

Hey Evie,
the worse nightmare - freezing rain.
The new header is just great.

That first picture says it all! Good luck over there!
