Rock City on Lookout Mountain in Tennessee

Over the Labor Day weekend my daughter, Rachel, came to visit and we planned to take a trip to Rock City which was a really great idea!

As you're driving up Lookout Mountain you can see Lover's Leap and it is just an amazing sight!

We got there very early on in the morning and it was a good thing as we found out later in the day. A holiday weekend is probably not the best time to go...unless you are a REAL people person!
The gardens are perfect and the plants on all the trails are clearly marked!
What a spectacular view!
The picture above and next two below are courtesy of my Hubby.
We had a little time for some pickin and a grinnin!
The trails were fantastic, lots of crevices and rock bridges.

And one heck of an awesome swinging bridge!
More to come on Rock City and Lookout Mountain.

Note: I've decided that this format for my blog was a very annoying change for me.
I haven't quite got the hang of using this format and it is taking me a lot longer to make a post, and it is a very frustrating job. I may need to rethink this plan!

Wow, does Morgan ever look like you! You can really see it in that picture of the three of you. She's beautiful like her mama :)
Sounds like you had a great weekend Eve, can't wait to see more. That eagle sculpture is so neat, I love it! I really like that motto as well, great message :)

What an awesome day. Loved the shot of the three of you "pickin' and a grinnin'"! :-)
That eagle made me do a double take, I was all set to comment on your incredible shot and then I had to look again.... lol.
Beautiful weather, beautiful faces, beautiful day - thanks for sharing your family time!

What a loverly family outing you had! I'm wondering how you got on with that swing bridge Evie! (-: Also just LOVE the goatee beard, well it's not really a goatee, more like a bristling bush! (-:

Don't you just love days with the family like that? They are the memories you won't forget. So nice to have both girls with you. And you look great as always, Eve.

What's wrong with your blog layout? You know what I can't stand is the new blog layouts that scroll weird. I'm not sure what's causing it though because they're made by blogger.

Beautiful photos. I love the caving society motto. That should be adopted by every gov't on earth.

I really like the snazzy photo of you below the moon information on your side bar. Tres chic!

Wow, this is a wonderful blog on Rock City. I had just created a Squidoo lens about it and your blog showed up on my Google Blog Search. I love all your pictures. Since I haven't been in many years, I don't have any pictures so emailed Rock City to see if they would let me use some of theirs. I am anxious to hear from them. Great work here and I thoroughly enjoyed.
