Almost Autumn

You know it's getting late in the season of summer when you start seeing things like brown Redbud pods.
Unopened Sedums.
Turning Beautyberry berries.
Blackberry Lily berries.
Aged Hydrangea.
Flowing grasses.
A second blush of Chaste Tree blooms.
Dogwood berries.
And a touch of orange
It's just a matter of time now!

The muted colours and the shortening daylight hours all signal that change is on the way Eve.

Lovely autumnal post Evie. I was going through and through the photos to pick out one's that I particularly liked and I couldn't, cos I like them all, but I guess your last shot has something a little extra special. (-:

Eve: You're giving me inspiration to attempt some botanical photos, if only I knew the names of those "things"

How strange to have ninety degree temperatures and see pumpkins and corn stalks ready for decorating. Am I the only one who is confused? Nice photos Miss Eve.

I'm looking forward to the fall this year because I've had such a wonderful summer with amazing weather so I really can't complain :)

I like all of your pictures but my favorite is the first one, I love the colours and it really does have an autumn look to it. Very pretty :)

There seem to be a hint of the trees turning early this year.

Nice series of photos to highlight the end of summer. We've had some cool days lately, that really brings home that fall is on it's way. I'm almost ready...I think! :)

Cool shots Evis. I love the spent Hydrangea. Our sedum has popped! Now I know Fall is going to come calling because when the sedum starts to pop and go through all the color changes I know we are in for season changes. I wanted Fall but now I don't want it to get all in a hurry. I see that little spidey web on the Blackberry Lily berries! No little spidey? Enjoy Friday on your Sunny Side Up mountain top!

There will always be complaints about the heat of summer but without that heat we wouldn't have this lovely change of seasons.
Wonderful photos.....

Every season has its beauty and you have captured a lot of neat things here. Fall is definitely in the air! I bet you get a lot of bird activity on those berries.
