Ditto Landing

Not 20 minutes from my home is a place on the Tennessee River called Ditto Landing. I pass it quite a bit as I travel to Sam's a couple times a month. Finally after a year I finally stopped just to see what I would find. It was beautiful.Click on the title for information on this scenic park. I plan on going back as soon as it cools off a little for a more thorough inspection. Can't wait!

20 minutes away and you've never stopped? It looks like an excellent place to enjoy lunch with your daughter!

Hot stuff down there, huh? We're finally cooling off a bit but tonight it's quite muggy. A/C is running though or I wouldn't sleep at all!

Looks like a wonderful park. I'd have to toss the kayaks in the river for a little paddle. We're back in the 70's again which is fine by me. I hope you get some cooler weather soon!

Eve it IS a beautiful place! I clicked on Ditto Landing and checked out the Marina. It is very nice and they seem to be making continuous improvements. It looks quiet in your shots. I wonder if it gets crazy busy. I think that would be a beautiful quiet place to boat during the week :) Alabama has alot to offer. So great you are hopping on the bike and taking in places like this. I am going to have to show this place to CH. You know it is going to be a really great place to visit as it turns fallish. The "hub of outdoor recreation", yep I bet it gets to rockin' and rollin' there!

Ditto is one of my very favorite places. Back when the kids were in middle and high school, I'd go there almost every morning after dropping them off and just enjoy watching the river flowing by. There's always something neat to see. Here's one of my older posts about Ditto Landing (in which I also do some whining about wanting a good camera) http://artinthewind.blogspot.com/search/label/Ditto%20Landing%20Marina

I like the bridge in the distance. Lovely sky shots and scenery. Wouldn't mind being there watching the river.

Beautiful shots Eve. The river looks nice and I like the puffy clouds that really add to the scenes. I'll bet there's good fishing there.

Beautiful scenery Eve, a lovely spot to sit and ponder. What are the mountains in the background?

Thanks for the great comments everyone. Yes I'll make sure I get back there and do some real exploring this fall.
Julie these are the southernmost Appalachian foothills. The header is looking back toward my house but there are a few mountains in the way before you get to mine. If you go to Google Maps and put in my address, then make it a MAP image instead of Satellite image. Next go to More and check Terrain you can see the topography. It's really fun! Zoom out and follow the river west to Ditto Landing.
