Great shot of the Harvestmen, Eve. Your blog is informative too. I didn't know Daddy-long-legs real name! Thank you!

Thanks Mike! I love learning about all kinds of critters out there. Two of my favorite places to go get knowledge and answers are Bugguide.net and Daniel's Blog

Daniel does such a great job with his reasearch, photography and humor!

Heeheeee, daddy long legs!! I must be the only person who actually get excited when I see them, hehe! I pick them up and play with them for a little while, then put them back in the grass, in a safe area :) I didn't know either that harvestmen is their real name.

PS. I love your sedums and your header!

Good Morning Evis! Love reading your post this morning. I love ferns too, all frilly :) CH loves the sedum and we have us a few daddy-long-legs EVERYWHERE! I like 'Harvestmen' better! Enjoy your Sunny Side Up Thursday!!!

Hi! thanks! Never heard that name Harvestmen - or Daddy-long-legs either. It must be the same as the Mejer-spider which only lives indoors (in Denmark). It is not so popular since it kills other spiders.

Cheers
Thyra

Harvestmen? Eve did you make that up? Lovely planters with ferns and sedums, wish I were there to see them in person!

Love the ferns Evie. Our Daddy-long-legs real name is Crane Fly.

I'm also fond of ferns. Some of them are so lacey and delicate. The sedums are lovely too. The daddy long legs is the only spider I like. I know there are others that are good, and they can have a long, happy life as long as they stay outside.
