May Days

I've been a busy bee here on the mountain just enjoying my surroundings in general.
I've been exploring my area and helping a friend plant trees.
I've found a new nursery and took a bunch of fun garden photos and am just enjoying the weather.
So I finally got around to taking pictures from my own garden to post today.
This little male Ruby-throated Hummingbird is enjoying the Iris as much as me.

They just opened this morning. All the Iris are blooming in profusion. The sun is filtering through the woods.I found this fern along my driveway and relocated it to a garden in the yard. The dragonflies are out in full force and all my Hosta pots have filled up!This Scarlet Tanager is still singing happily in the trees above. It's a world of sun and shade.

I'm lovin every bit of it!

Love your connection with nature and how connected your daughter is as ya'll explore together. Wish all kids were exposed to that like ya'll do. Working on making my place a welcome environment for kids to come explore and get unplugged, any suggestions on things your daughter enjoys most would be welcome.

Very pretty Evis! I love it. I love the yellow and deep purple Iris, I can smell them too. We have a few that have started to bloom. Our Mr. Summer Tanager came back to our little bit of country last Thursday. I was thrilled when CH came in and told me he saw him and I have heard him everyday. He has a lot to say ALL day! Those Tanagers know a good home when they find one and they don't forget where it is :)

We drove through the beautiful Scottsboro area on Sunday- I thought of you and your family as we passed through and was thinking of how lucky you are to be living in such a great place! I like the shot of the hummingbird and the iris. Your new header is great!

First off, since I always forget to mention it...love the new header!

All very lovely scenes of spring. I didn't even see the humming bird at first. I have our feeder out now, but no hummer's yet. Those Scarlet Tanagers are gorgeous. I don't think we have anything like it around here.

Wonderful! If I had a garden like that I would stay home and enjoy it, too. That yellow and purple iris is gorgeous! Love the Scarlet Tanager...I've never seen one. Very pretty! And the hummingbird! I need to get out my feeders.

There's a Hummer! Are you hogging them all with your beautiful garden, Eve? ; )

It must be so much fun to discover all the new flowers in your yard. Your so fortunate to have a previous owner who enjoys gardens as much as you. And they were lucky to find someone who will take care of them!
