The ice melted away on Friday afternoon but then Saturday the snow fell. No not a lot but enough to dust the ground.
The little White-
throated Sparrows were scouting for seed.
And the Cardinal was braving the wind.
On Sunday the sun warmed the world.
And on Monday I found this bright splash of sunshine in my garden!
I think this means good times are on the way!

Ah! a beautiful flower and some colour at last Evie.
Beautiful buttery yellow that leaps out from the brown of winter! Spring has sprung.......in a small way of course. I'm sure winter hasn't given up quite yet! It's a start though!(-:
Darn it all Eve, flowers? What the heck? Roll out the red carpet because I'm coming for a visit! LOL!
I adore your new header shot. So sweet : )
Yay! A bright yellow crocus for my bright sunny friend! How perfect is that?! Great post, Evie!
A sign of hope, lovely lone crocus. This sign of Spring is not going to fool me, I am still going to pack my long underwear and flannel jeans!
Those cardinals are so incredibly gorgeous, aren't they?! And, that's such a sunny flower to pop up in your wintery garden.
Wow, Eve... I love that image of the Cardinal! We don't have those in the Northwest. You have nice property to walk around.
That crocus gives me hope that spring is on the way! Beautiful!

Love the splashes of color! Being a bird in winter seems a hard way to make a living.
More wonderful shots. I love the cardinal. That red really pops! And so good to see the crocus bloom.
