Yard Birds

Yesterday I found this dainty little flower on this bush. I don't know what it is yet but it sure was sweet. There is just one branch of red Dogwood leaves hanging on in the back field. This one Goldfinch was hungry enough to stick close to the feeder while I was trying to get pictures of my birds, but as you can see he just didn't want to be too conspicuous.I went out back again and saw a bunch of Ruby-crowned Kinglets but they just don't want to hold still do they! Do you see that little Kinglet blur in the middle of the photo? There's that little bugger hiding in there!Luckily this sweet White-throated Sparrow decided to sit still for me.Now that is a pretty face!

I'd say that is a typical Ruby crowned Kinglet photo! (-: Lovely White-throated peeking out at you. It's lovely to see some of your yard birds Evie!

That little flower looks like a Mock Orange...so do the leaves. Kinglets are so hard to get photos of. I've rarely seen one. That sparrow photo is wonderful!

Thanks Kerry!

Hi L's mum! no they didn't sing but I did listen to their song on my Thayer's guide and it is a very sweet song. It looks like they will be winter visitors so maybe I'll get some more pictures.

Thanks Jenny! I'll be sure to get some more of my yard birds for you!

Thank you Mary! I'll look into the Mock Orange!

The white throated sparrow is really nice Evie, such unusual head colouring.

Hi Eve, I'm glad to see that you are still blogging regularly- unlike another blogger that I know (that would be me!). Work has picked up, so I guess that is a good thing. I really like the photo of the White Throated Sparrow. It is in a great setting! The Ruby-crowned Kinglets are really hard to get a photo of. I was able to get a few photos of the Ruby and Golden Crowned Kinglets back in the winter. I should get out and see if they are back again this year. I hope all are well there!

You nailed that "pretty face" on the last photo. It's wonderful! Very hard to get birds to pose for you isn't it? Nice work.

Hi Sunny Side Up Eve! CH and I have been gone for a couple of days CHRISTMAS SHOPPING! Yikes. So I am getting caught up on reading blogs. I wonder what the dainty little white flower is? Your yard birds look plumpie! The White-throated Sparrow capture is awesome!
