OK.
Every time I go outside without my camera I see warblers. Some I know and some I don't. Taking a picture of the ones I don't know is always great because the document can be studied and usually an answer can be found.
Yesterday I noticed some Pine Warblers were out and about so I grabbed the camera and when off to sit on my lonely picnic table in hopes of getting some warbler photos. As usual the warblers were hiding...I could hear them, but seeing them was a different story. I had a lot of eyes helping me to find them. The Eastern Bluebird was looking for me.
He looked this way... ...and that way.The Red-bellied Woodpecker tried to help, looking this way... ...and that way. Even the young Eastern Bluebird tried to find a warbler for me,
looking this way......and that way. The White-breasted Nuthatch might have seen one around there!!Even the Crows tried to flush out a few! And finally I saw one...it's there in that tree! There!!
Darn those sneaky warblers!

This is a funny post and one in which I can relate! Warblers are the bane of my bird watching experience. My life list would probably go up like 50 in count if I could just better identify warblers. I haven't had much luck photographing them either- they are considerate enough to not hide behind leaves, nor do they stop for very long. :)
LOL! I love your sense of humor. I never can see warblers either and can't even hear them usually...and wouldn't know their song if I did. You saw some great birds while sitting there, even without the warbler. Better luck next time! Can't you get Morgan to be a "warbler whisperer"? She did so well with guineas and praying mantis :-)
Sunny Side Up Eve this is a too, too funny and sweet post with feathery little bird bodies and faces rolled up all together this morning! I am startin' my day with a grin on my face! Oh and that picnic table looks the perfect place for an afternoon glass of wine and to just sit and listen to October.
omgoddness, lol, funny post Eve! I've given up on trying to find any more warblers..my neck is so sore from look'en up that the other night I finally got out the heating pad!! Now I'm being teased by the better half..as having a warbler neck!
Maybe I need to follow your lead and get the other birds to help me find them...you seem to have successfully gathered quite a few helpers..
very funny and cute, I hope you see one soon
Great pictorial Eve. Wish I were there to join you and Morgan at the picnic table. We would share a meal, enjoy a glass of wine. (Morgan you get juice) and let the nuts fall on our heads.
Hey Evie, some birds are very helpful, others are just darn "pesky" ( I think thats an American English word - maybe) {:)
Maybe you didn't find Warblers Eve but you did some great birds!
Hey, whats the deal, after 8:00 at night and it's still 66 degrees? I'm SO jealous!!!
I'm glad you all enjoyed the post. Yes it would be fun to have all of you sitting around the picnic table, with wine and cameras in hand...dodging acorns and sayin "those darn "pesky" warblers in our best American English!
Sharon,
Don't be too jealous! We just survived a tornado warning that was heading right for us!! Morgan, Daisy Lu and I were all cowering in the bathroom while hubby and Ole (silly men) were just going about their business!!
This is the cool front that was behind the weather. But no I'm not complaining!!
Eve - you are so funny & cute! Tell that red bellied woodpecker to come visit me! I swear - the birds have abandoned me the last few weeks!
This is hilarious, Eve! Funny, funny post! Yeah, those Warblers are pretty secretive little critters. Good luck!
Geez, with all that birdy help I was expecting some warbler pics! :) Great post!
Eve you're so funny, lol :P Good luck finding those cute little warblers!
