Beautiful shots Eve! Autumn is really here. I saw a bird that looked very similar to this one the other day, is it a phoebe? I haven't the chance to check myself. Cute little bird ^_^

Thanks Roy. I think it's a combination of the long lens, a fairly wide open aperture and that I took both photos through a window! And not even the same window!

Dogwoods are always so pretty in the fall and spring both. That is why I hated when my dogwood by the front door died, but hopefully the little one will grow big soon. Love the shot of the bird in the little "window" of light.
Eve, the second photo, awesome. The birds have stripped all the berries from our dogwoods. It was fun to watch them enjoy. I think the squirrels gave them a run for their money. I didn't even think squirrels ate the berries on dogwoods. But we have never had this many and time to watch.
I can't remember from your previous posts, do you have any redbud?

Hi RR! Yes I have a number of Redbud. I didn't get to see them bloom here this spring either. I can't wait to see them bloom.
So it IS an eastern phoebe, awesome!! It looks very similar to the one I photographed the other day, if we both think it's an eastern phoebe, then it must be, hehe. I'm not the greatest when it comes to identifying flycatchers (and sandpipers) so I'm happy I got it right, heehee :)
Hi Eve- Dogwoods are one of my favorite trees too. I've noticed that the birds will usually eat the Dogwood berries late into the season when almost all other food sources are gone. But when they do start eating them- the berries disappear pretty quickly. Fall in the Sand Mountain region is usually spectacular- I am looking forward to seeing your photos of it!
What a change for you...if you were still in NY you would be seeing the cold nights and signs of the big change in those fall colors...but now that you are further south you get to see all the warblers we can't see anymore..the beautiful dogwood leaves turning and an eastern phoebee...just sitting there waiting for you to take its pic..how nice!! Jealous here!! ;-)
