Green Mountain

Morgan and I took Debi's lead from "The Giraffe Head Tree" and headed to Madison County Nature Trail on Green Mountain. It's only 20 minutes from the house. The weather couldn't have been more perfect.Someone had left yellow flowers in different places. It was a treat. I'm in an artsy mood this morning for sure. The tiny island in the lake. The fun covered bridge. A grandma and granddaughter feeding catfish with plenty bread and giggles! The house we would all love to own!! Plenty places to sit both new and rustic. A taste of fall, and fun for all! Did I tell you how much I love it here in Alabama?

Oh, I love seeing Green Mountain Park through your eyes, Eve! Yellow flowers left hither and yon - how fascinating. It's as though the park begs an intimacy and secrecy not easily found. There were more people there during your trek - I love the grandmother and granddaughter feeding creatures, giggling and telling secrets. This is wonderful! My friend tells me that autumn turns the hardwoods there ablaze so I think you and I will have to go then to do some serious photos and talking, breathing in the crisp air. Bring a lunch. Fun!

Lovely post Evie, you had a great day exploring! How did you do that!!!!??? with the b&w and yellow? Love the shot with the grandmother and child. My fav I think. The shack reminds me of Little house on the prairie (sorry) (-:.

You did tell us, once or twice I think Evie.
Great images, love the artsy ones particularly. Oh and the new header is really special.

Eve it is a wonderful thing to love where you live. It really is everything to me. Gotta feel safe, happy and peaceful where you are or you are always running away instead of feeling that happy feeling in the heart about home. I love the leaf all dressed up in fall colors and the covered bridge. Just a cool post!

I love all your arty shots! The flowers, the leaf, the tiny island...great! I'll bet you will love it even more when you aren't freezing your "you know what" off this winter.

Oh Eve, what a great blog. The photos are just lovely. I wish I were there to discover all these wonderful new places with you. What adventures we would have. Were the people in the last photo fishing? I would love to dismantle that cabin and put in my field for a guest house!

Hi everyone! Thanks so much. I just want you to know that my internet is still quite slow. Some of my favorite blogs take so long to load and it gets difficult to comment. I take the time to look at all your blogs though....You're all my buds!

Thanks Debi! We will have fun with our photo outings I'm sure!

Hi Carolynn, the flowers were quite a surprise.

Hi Jenny Wren. Well of course the b&W was with photoshop. You have to work in layers, take the color out and then put it back just where you want it. Wish you were here so I could show you!!! It would look like the house on the prairie...but it's in the woods!!! hahaha!

Thanks Roy, glad you liked the header!

Thanks Lynne. I bet there's a covered bridge out there somewhere....or you could make on over Hasty Brook!!! Just order a little extra wood!

Thanks Steve. It is!

Hi Barb! I'm so glad you enjoyed both our posts. Thanks for your sweet comments!

Hi Frank! It is a great place to live...well except for the tornados...but well...I could be dealing with 6 feet of snow too...no thanks!

Thanks RR! It is nice to be home!

Thanks Mary...no freezing for me!

Hi Julie. Let's go to the park when you come visit and bring the log cabin home...do you think I can fit it in my Subie????

Thanks Tina! Maybe you could make a trip down sometime and we could bird out there!!

Hi Helen! Thanks much!

Great photos! I especially like the little island shot and the last photo of the folks looking down into the water from the little dock. That looks like a wonderfully scenic trail!
