High Falls Park Geraldine, Alabama

Easter Sunday proved to be a beautiful day and we took advantage of the gift we'd been given. We jumped on the Harleys and just drove down the road without a plan.
Our first stop Guntersville State Park. Although Morgan and I had been to the park and seen the view from the Lodge, my husband had not so that was our first stop.We really didn't have a plan but with all the fantastic scenery in northern Alabama, it didn't take long to cruise our way to another beautiful work of nature. We ended up finding our way to High Falls in Dekalb County. I had the G9 strapped around my neck for the ride. Sorry about the totally blown out waterfall photo above. The sun was high and it was a blazing hot day. Below, if you click on the photo, you should be able to see a fellow who'd just come out of the water and is climbing the rocks to the top.We found out he had been jumping off the falls for many years. OK, to each his own.
I love this beautiful bridge crossing Town Creek. From the bridge looking toward the falls. The trees are beginning to pop!Facing upstream. Here this fellow is just about to make the leap. His descent was obscured by the rocks but he made the leap and survived to do it another day. I think.Another blown out photo but if one was to fall here that white light would probably be the last thing one would see! You can click on my title for more information on High Falls Park.

Nice photos and post Eve! It's good to see the bikes! Glad the weather is finally good for you. Great shots of the falls and the bridge. The one looking down it might make a good black & white with the shadow of the railing. I also like the one with the guy ready to jump. That's got some drama! :)

First I have to mention the new blog header, just lovely and a perfect photo for Sunny Side Up. Another interesting road trip Evie, I can hear the falls now. Morgan hold on tight while on that bike!

Wow!! These are amazing and beautiful pictures!! I can't believe someone is jumping off the rocks already--Isn't it too cold? If I did it, it would be my last jump...I can't really swim! :-))

Nice photos, and good to see you out on the bikes! What extremes in weather you have. Wasn't it just snowing, and now it's blazing hot?

I'm realizing that I know very little about Alabama, but through all your photos I'm learning what a lovely place it is. Thanks!

Those falls were gorgeous! Can't believe that guy was jumping - I'd be afraid of hitting some rocks on the way! A gorgeous ride you took us on Eve!

Eve:

I've been waiting patiently looking at all those flower pictures just waiting for the day when I could see a couple of Harleys riding to scenic places.

Glad you were able to go for a ride, finally. Did I say, "Nice bikes"

Wonderful place Eve! You should have brought lunch. I can only imagine how scenic it must be in the summer.

And that guy ... he's nuts! The water has to be freezing! Better him than me, or you!
