Today our temperature will reach 58 degrees and then tumble down to 5 degrees!
What a ride that will be!
There was another rafter across the road but maybe they'd already met the Guinea kids and had, shall we say, an understanding.
It took a little while but this bunch of about 20, each of which was no less than twice the size of my kids, to make it around back. Here they meet, guineas to the right, turkeys to the left.
Now I'm not quite sure what it is that makes guineas look formidable to these big gobblers...
...I even think the turkeys were wondering the same thing.
Maybe it was the noise alone that turned them away, but to tell you the truth the kids weren't all that loud...just persistent.
We'll just follow them to make sure they get the message.
Looks like we've made ourselves semi loud and clear.
Well, let's just check to make sure.
Very good then!
Those silly birds!
It turned out to be a turkey...which turned out to be the theme of the almost two weeks my computer was in the shop.
She managed to make it around to the back yard...
...until an intruder shows up.
"We can do this guys come on lets go!!"
This turkey is looking for a way out just in case things heat up.
"Well if that little chickadee is welcome then it must be OK for me."
"Come on" Buddy says "lets get her!"
"you bunch of chickens!" (no offence Danni!)
What does she see...
backup!
"Those guineas don't look so tough."
"and look, I've got some pretty feathers too!"
Well they didn't stay too long...
and I didn't even get one feather!

Just so you know, "Mildred" was already off the bus and no one was hurt. The driver thought he could turn around instead of driving way up the road. "Mildred" has a new driver now....
Whaaaaa?
Uh oh...
oh dear...
I think we might have a suspect.
Is that a tear or sweat?
Yikes.
And another day comes to a close.
And the sun comes up again.
Things are really getting bad now.

We've determined this little fellow just couldn't take the heat.

But the morning they left it was a nice day and they encountered very little snow along the way.
We had such a good time, even if we were snowed in for most of it.
Thank you so much Bill for not flying to Ohio. Julie and I just loved our visit and who knows what spring will bring....a visit to Alabama??? Or another trip to Maine!!!
